When George Foreman won the title in '94 he wanted to fight Mike Tyson for his 1st defense. What if he did?

Who would have won at that time?

I can tell you one thing, it would possibly have been the richest heavyweight fight ever, maybe even bigger that Holyfield-Tyson I & II.

Who would have won FOREMAN-TYSON in '94 or '95?

  1. Foreman would have taken Tyson.  Tyson had no self control.

    and lacked stamina.

  2. That would've been an interesting fight. Taking into consideration the various factors such as Foreman's age, Tyson's decline, and presuming it was a 10 round bout it would be close. Foreman would not be intimidated at all and Tyson in anger would try to establish dominance in the fight.

    - I think big George Foreman would show some real heart and absorb the punishment that Tyson would dish out to him in the early going. Tyson would open fast throwing hooks and uppercuts, and maybe even knock down Foreman in the first 4 rounds if lucky.

The tides would turn later on in the fight seeing as Tyson has barley ever lasted the distance of a full 10 round fight, and Foreman would explode back and maybe even knock Tyson down with slow but more powerful shots. By the 9th round it would be a very even fight. Tyson would have to go for the KO in the 10th round and if he couldn't land it, which is what I would predict then George would take a split decision.

  3. Great question.  I JUST finished talking with a buddy about that fight.  Call me crazy but I really think Mike wanted NO PART of Big George.   There's a good reason.

When is the last time you ever saw Forman knocked down or hurt with just ONE punch?  Never.  He's been knocked down but, like Mike, it always took an acculimation of punches after George was worn down.

Mike would land some hard shots to George's head.  However, not enough to change the fight because George would have those HUGE arms in the way.  He would push Tyson all over and not allow him to get settled.   Old George was a very smart fighter despite his limitations.

Mike would shake him but not often enough to keep him hurt.  Mike could take a punch too but you can see what Lennox did to him.  I dare say Big George would have stopped Tyson

    Forman KO 9

  4. Big George would have destroyed Tyson, it wouldn't have gone one round.  Mike would have chipped his teeth on George's ear, Forman would beat Mike today if they fought.  Mike was nothing if the guy across from him wasn't scared to death, and George Forman would have beat Mike before the bell for the first round even sounded.   Mentally Mike would have disintegrated when George looked at him without fear in his eyes, it wouldn't have went one round before Forman KOed Mike.

  5. George Foreman would win of course.

  6. tyson wasn't in his prime in '94, so i guess it would be foreman.  but i would never pick against a primed iron mike.

  7. what a battle that would have been

give my right ear to have seen it

mike is a bad man very bad ..

    tyson in the 14th ..

  8. I agree with blogbaba, although I think it would have went 5 or 6 rounds or so. Once Tyson realized Foreman would hit him back, Mike would get disgusted and his will to fight would be broken.

    Foreman by KO! in 6rds
