thinking that because if that was the case, why the h**l didn't he take them this year?

If youre only argument for Favre coming back to the Packers is him taking the Packers to the SB then that is a weak a** case. Whos to say Favre will have the year he had last season.

  1. One more year on an old QB takes its toll.

  2. no he wont.they wouldnt do well.to much pressure and publicity

  3. Favres players wont have the same trust in him...but it would make a great story...but so would holmgrens last season with the seahawks...Seahawks all the way

  4. It is first & foremost about playing the game.

Favre loves to play the game & he is good at it.

    I enjoy watching him play.

I say he should have the chance to play the game as long as he can still put the ball in the air & get it to someone. After all even at his age he is better than most QB's out there.

Even when Thompsen gutted the O line & didn't pick up a top flight receiver Brett stayed on & helped to bring the team together.

Is there any one who believes that Rogers could or would have done that?

Now their prime running back wants $40 Mil. I guess that if the Packers will pay someone $20 Mil not to play then I would think that any one that will be playing will want to be paid more.

Favre is more about the sport of football in a venue that is becoming more & more just an entertainment venue.

If the NFL would just let Brett be pushed to the side lines or out of the game all of pro football will loose. Why? Mainly its about Ted Thompsen's EGO

  5. h**l no not with the vikings in their division not a chance in h**l

  6. The problem with the scenario is that it was not only Brett who won the SB but a great team who knew how to work together . One person can not win a SB!! There is no more of a guarantee that Brett would be able to get the job done as QB....or that he would not get badly injured either.I wonder how people pushing him to stay would feel if he came back and got permanently injured...Brett was an unknown when he came-now is Aaron's shot at QB

  7. i dont think he would but he is the best choice. what did aaron rodgers do to think he can take the packers to the promised land. and dan marino didnt win any superbowls but he is still considered one of top 5 qbs of all time.

  8. First of all Favre will not come back to the Packers.. The Packers now are so g*y for the real man like Brett Favre to play for..  So he will end up playing for Vikings or Da Bears..

  9. I honestly think that Favre is past his prime - far past his prime and needs to move on, sit on the bench, or get traded for a bunch of high draft picks (ala Ricky Williams or Hershel Walker).

While it's true that Aaron Rodgers hasn't done anything in the NFL yet, I have confidence in him than in Favre. Crazy, right? Not really. Sure, Favre is one of the best quarterbacks ever. But seriously, one SB win? One? Trent Dilfer has one, too. And even though Dilfer is no Favre, Farve should have more than Dilfer, but he doesn't and it's HIS fault.

When I think of Brett Favre, I think of the ultra-error prone QB who is throwing picks at the worst time. Didn't he throw FIVE INT's in a playoff game in St. Louis? Didn't he HAND the Giants the NFC Championship? Yes, that's what I think of when I think Favre. He is a turnover machine (Hench, most INT's EVER!) and I'd rather have someone who won't single-handedly cost my team their season.

d**n. Got off track. To answer the question, No, he won't. He will throw more INT's and cost the team another chance to win.

  10. He's NOT coming back to the Packers, they have moved on and Aaron Rodgers is their starter. I am a Packer fan and I understand why they aren't taking him back even if he COULD win them a super Bowl. How old are you? This question obviously didn't require much thought. I can see both sides of the argument- they should take him back because that's what a lot of the fans want. He has given them many things over the past seventeen years including a super bowl trophy and probably generated a larger fan base that would contribute more to the packers as an organization. The shareholders want him back for obvious reasons. So some may think they "owe" him. On the other hand, he had his chance to come back and start and he declined, his shot at that was over, they planned on moving forward and concentrating on the future of their team. They obviously don't think it's very likely that he could win them another super bowl, and even if he could that would only be good for one season. They now need to focus on building their young team to win super bowls in  the future, although it is pretty messed up that they can offer him $20mil over the next ten years to sit at home but they can't settle a contract dispute with Ryan Grant.

  11. They shouldn't be worrying about Bret Favre.

They should bw worried about signing last years running back who is currently unsigned!

I am a Vikings Fan and this whole thing is bogus!

They want to file tampering charges and they wont let him come back as a Packer so wtf is Green Bay and Farve smoking.

Just take the 20 mil and leave seriously i'm sick of all this Farve drama.

  12. IF Brett Favre were to return to the Packers, and that in itself is a huge leap, then he will NOT take them back to the Super Bowl. The team does not trust him for one thing. He throws too many INTs for another and he has an inability to win the big game, preferring to throw the ball to a Giant Corner than to his own man. He has shown himself over the last few weeks as what he really is, an over-rated attention wh**re! With or without Favre the Packers finish behind the Vikings in their Division and fail to make the Play Offs. They do, However, beat the Bears.

  13. He's an old f**t. Last year he was good cause of his recievers were good he's only on a downfall now.

  14. he ain't taking that packers back to the superbowl

  15. He's 3-7 in his last 10 playoff games with 19 interceptions.

I seriously doubt he'll get any team to the Super Bowl.

  16. Brett needs to go to the Vikings. If he goes back to the Packers, they may make the playoffs and that's it

  17. It's simple a power thing...if Brett Favre is there it is his team not Ted T. or Mike M.

  18. His past fiffteen seasons, his 420+ touchdown throws throughout his career, his ability to make a garbage receiver look good (if you look at the '07 season you will notice that a majority of Favre's incompletions and interceptions came from dropped and receiver deflected balls). Watch some film and you'll realize Favre's mistakes are far more his teamates mistakes in most cases. While Favre does make some errant throws with nothing but faith behind them, that is nothing but a part of the Favre mystique that Green Bay fans have come to love throughout not only this era, but their generations. Packer fan fathers have raised their kids through a generation of Favre, a solid, competetive, caring, and composed individual who loves the game just as much now as he did when he threw his first high school touchdown. The greatest thing about Favre is his passion for the game is so overwhelming that it can openly inspire anyone in doubt of their love for football or desire to play. Watch a game of Favre and you can feel the emotional intensity emitting from him, positive or negative. Should Favre not come back to the Green Bay Packers organization for the following season when he openly wants to, there is no positive to that. The helm will be taken over by Aaron Rodgers... which the only thing he has proven is his lack of care for the fans as he promoted in sports illustrated. He has dismal stats and more injuries than touchdowns. He has played for the better part of an overall 6-8 quarters not including preseason, and not including the fact that he knows the sytem well enough to produce. While the defenses he has played against were not a joke in anyway, I don't see anyone giving Favre that kind of consideration. The fact of the matter is he has been there (The Super Bowl), and that brings a certain confidence which quarterbacks do one of two things with, lose their skill feeling they have all ready reached their peak, or gain the desire to compete with more fire by means of wanting to be remembered, and labeling their team as a dynasty of the franchise forever... Favre is the second one.
