  1. he needs to retire bottom line

  2. Under the covers GB has been whanting Favre to) retire for the past 3 years.that is why the ammotion hes doing something his gut isnt telling him to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Who cares if he does whant to play for MN.The people have the right to see how he does...........For another team............gb doesnt have the right to take that away because they are afraid it will make them look bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Release him lets see the man play regardless what team he playes for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  3. $20,000,000 for 10 years.. is $5,555 a day.. or $231.48 an hr.

  4. I think he wants to cause the Packers don't want to rely on him anymore.  He's flip-flopped on the retirement thing for a few years now, and the Pack was always there to beg him to go another year.  They finally said after he retired "we're going with Rodgers" and Favre realized he wasn't gonna get his ego stroked anymore.  Disillusionment followed, and now he wants to play again.  Notice that it's for a team that only lacks a QB, with a really good shot at going deep in the playoffs (that's why he's been negative towards deals to the Bucs and Jets).

10 to 1 says if the Pack went to his house right before the announcement and said "Brett, pretty please, we can't function without you!" (like they've done in the past) this never would have happened.  It's not their fault, they're just tired of chasing and begging, especially since they've gotta look to the future with a Number 1 draft pick at QB.

And to those thinkers "what are the Pack scared of?" and "why not just release him?"  It's for the same reason you just don't release Chad Johnson: they have many years left on their contracts, both are Pro Bowl caliber players and their teams SHOULD get something of value (if that's their option- they can always just call the player's bluff, like the Bengals did).  A "king's ransom" in Favre's words, if you will, is irrelevant because teams need to look out for themselves in those trades.

The NFL is a business, and to not try to get as much as you can out of a deal is very bad business.

  5. Why would he not take the money? Even if it does ruin his image and make him the biggest hypocrite since Rafael Palmeiro. Who the h**l goes out on top anymore. Well, for starters, certainly not Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens.

  6. I think there is a whole lot of BS behind this whole thing that is not out in the open yet.  There is more than meets the eye.  The media is only trying to report info to build controversy.  This drama without all the unanswered questions like How and Why is what is making this such a big deal.  The media knows.  They just won't report it yet.  They want you to stay tuned and see the conclusion.

Thumbs up to those who agree.
