Just a what-if question...I know that Pacquiao is a lightweight and Mayweather is a welterweight...Pacquiao said he was willing to go up to 140 though...Pacquiao is ranked no. 1 pound-for-pound right now, but before Mayweather retired he was ranked first...

  1. I think it's more possible now than ever.  I can picture Floyd seething over someone else being called superior.  He's going to hit the gym and fight Manny at 140.

  2. Yes it is possible, with the power of the promoters and if the fighters are willing then it is going to be a blockbuster match. i can see a mayweather win over pacman on this....if pacman move up to welterweight which is floyds comfort zone division, a very big mistake for pacquiao if i may say. but if they meet at lightweight or maybe superlightweight he might have a chance of knocking out floyd. i bet floyd cannot have as much energy due to dehydration at this weight division, we cannot question his speed and his defense but he might not last even for 8 rounds.

  3. If Mayweather hadn't retire, a fight might have been possible.  But even with Mayweather retired, the fight may still be possible.

As of now, Pacquiao is working his way up to a possible fight with Hatton.  It's said that Hatton himself wouldn't mind fighting Pacquiao.  If Pacquiao wins, it'll make him a 5 division title holder, and most likely undisputed Pound 4 Pound king.  Because of this, the fight is possible because..

    1) Big Attraction, Big Money.  The former Pound 4 Pound champ takes his shot as the current P4P champ.  This would be a sell out for sure.

    2) Good Match-up.  Even if Manny moves to Light Welterweight, he'd be 5 lbs lighter than Mayweather was at his last fight.  But Manny would be a safer fight for Floyd over other Welterweights such as Cotto or Williams.

A fight with Manny would probably be a bigger money fight than most Welterweights, with exception to a DLH rematch, or Cotto fight.

    Who wins..?

As of now, I'd have to say Mayweather.

As much as I like Manny, he'd have to gain a lot more skill to be able to defeat Mayweather, because his only chance would be to win by knockout.  It would be near impossible for him to out score Mayweather on points.

  4. its possible for them to fight cause its all about money its another bigtime boxing in the making

  5. Time will tell.

    .

  6. Floyd beats up smaller welter weights. Paq'man would get k.o.'d in the sixth.

  7. Im dissapointed in Mayweather. Right when he was number one, he chose to retire. He was scared somebody was going to defeat him probably. Somebody with the name of MANNY PACQUIAO!

  8. Pacman cant mess with Floyd, as much as we love Pacman for beating a few mexicans and as much as we hate Floyd for leaving the sport, we all know that Pacquiao has no chance against Mayweather

  9. Floyd Mayweather.
