  1. If Tiznow got lucky (which often happens) he'd be able to snatch a win, but then again, Ghostzapper's lifetime Beyer was 118, which is insane, and his 4-year-old average Beyer was in the mid-120s.

  2. That's a great match up...the pure speed of Ghostzapper against the heart and determination of Tiznow!

These are two amazing horses who share a rare trait...they both have blood lines that run to the Great  Man O War!  Tiznow through his Sire Cee's Tizzy and Ghostzapper through his dam Baby Zip.  Both Cee's Tizzy and Baby Zip are offspring of the great Sire Relaunch.  Making Tiznow and Ghostzapper 1st Cousins.

So let's get started with the Equine version of Family Feud...

No one can really argue that Ghostzapper was the faster horse...he was after all a sprinter that Robert Frankel stretched out into a horse who could run Classic Distances.  His time in the Breeders Cup Classic is Secretariat like going the 1 1/4 in 1:59 and change!

Tizow was a fighter...his wins in both of the Breeders Cup Classics where by a head!  Holding off Great European Champions, Giants Causway and Sakhee!  He was a horse who would not give up the lead.

    So who wins?

    It depends...

Because Ghostzapper was a sprinter, stretching out...he would require longer rests between the races.....so if the races where run at one month intervals....he might take them all....but if I was betting, I would give one of them to Tiznow, so lets say it would be 4-1

If the races where to be run on a Triple crown schedule...Ghostzapper would win the first and two weeks later lose a close race to Tiznow.  Three weeks would be enough for Frankel to get Ghostzapper ready again and he would win...But I believe that Tiznow would come back and beat him the next two.....5 races in 12 weeks would be too much for him to overcome.  So it would end up Tiznow 3-2!

Two great horses born only 3 years apart...how lucky we were to get to watch them run....and how lucky we are to get to now see their baby's run too!!

  3. ghostzapper truly was a freak.  i was a huge fan of that horse.  unfortunately he got injured and his career was cut short.  he was the best race horse in the world when he got hurt.  tiznow couldnt beat him.  id love to see a ghostzapper vs cigar match up though.  that would be awesome. best two horses in my lifetime.

  4. Gostzapper would win all five, Tiznow was a great horse but Gostzapper was a freak, Gostzapper ran a 128 Beyer almost unheard of, he also holds the fastest time ever for the

    Breaders Cup Classic.
