  1. as with everything in the universe... there is an equal and opposite reaction to any action, so if it is hotter in one place, its gonna be colder in another, the planet is doing its best to fix itself, so along with global warming comes harsher wetter winters and longer dryer summers, and odd weather in between, it is all realative, just like everything is

  2. here is the deal. ice is melting on poles. melting is affecting global air current stream and air temperatures all around the world. this is causing climate changes and harsh conditions. global warming is not necesserely cause to hot weather.

  3. Yes, it's just not as bad as they are making it out to be.

One problem with global warming is that the concept is so vague in the minds of the people. The critical interpretation is basically how it’s explained in school and the news. However most of the public see global warming connected with the ozone and pollutants which cause harmful greenhouse gasses, etc. therefore investigating and fighting for things like alternative energy (ie. Solar, wind, hydrogen, ethanol, biodiesel, etc)

Greenhouse gases are real and do contribute to global warming. Think of the different gas layers like ozone (o3) that circumference the globe as the clear plastic on a greenhouse. Longer rays of light from the Sun go in and reflect off different thermal masses bouncing back and creating shorter lengths of energy that cannot exist the plastic barrier. These beams then just continue to bounce around inside the green house until they’re finally absorbed completely (some do escape but very few), thereby warming the greenhouse greatly even in cold temperatures.

Basically there are 2 ways that this reaction (or lack of) affects the planet. Global warming and global cooling.

    1. as we add to the gases in the stratosphere, where the ozone layer is (Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc), we add to the plastic of the greenhouse, trapping more short wave length energy and heating the earth more.

    2. as we deplete the ozone (with chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs), we allow more long wave length energy, which bounces back out to space without heating any thermal masses on earth, thereby cooling the planet.

It’s pretty easy to see the results..

    Melting ice sheets & glaciers

    Floods & droughts

    Great hurricanes & cyclones

    Seasonal extremes

    Seasonal phenomena’s

    Species extinction

    New & resurgent diseases

There are many ways to stop both global warming and cooling from accruing or at least slow them down until we can discover a way to reverse it, but Stop burning fossil fuels is the biggest.

I currently own 2 converted h2 vehicles which run on 100% hydrogen and 1 EV (electric vehicle), not to mention our home is completely off the grid, using alternative energy (solar, wind, etc)

  5. Global warming throws off the climate everywhere.  It doesn't mean that everywhere gets warmer, but the average temperature for the planet increases.

  6. No, it is not. The earth goes through cycles of temperature changes. In the late middle ages there was a mini-ice age. The actual temperature of the earth has risen less then 1 degree in the last century. Also, man can not do anything to affect the temperature of the planet, except for setting off all its nuclear arsenal. There are more trees in America now, then there where during George Washington's time. There is less pollution in the air now, then there was during the industrial revolution. They only used sulfur enriched coal for fuel and we clean our emissions in the industrial countries of the world.

I think it is cold outside where you live simply because it is winter.

  7. Those that believe in the hoax of Global Warming can not explain why we have not had a major hurrican hit the main land in TWO years. Using all the weather prediction equipment and techniques we have at our disposal today the weatherman can not give me a 100% chance that it will rain in town but we are to believe, without question because the debate is over, that the Earth will rise in temperature by ONE degree over the next 100 years and it is all due me driving my badass truck to work every day.

Those that believe in Global Warming do not need deal with the truth because they have a slide show! It doesn't matter if the gets cold in winter and hot in the summer, you must believe in what they say or they label you stupid, ignorant, or they accuse you of taking money from an oil company. They can not explain why the hottest year was in the 1930's (Dust Bowl) and there were NO SUVs driving around.

  8. Yeah! I'm freezing in the swamplands of Louisiana and the land is flat too.

  9. lol global warming isn't going to stop coldness  but what i have realized is that i live in Nevada total dessert there but anyway few years ago it wasn't so cold here but as years pass it gets colder and colder every year and it even snowed! and in summer time it gets hotter then it use to few years ago. i think that might have something to do with it but its just my opinion.

  10. Because it's winter, global climate isn't the local climate or local weather.

As a skeptic of AGW, man made global warming, I'm so tired of both sides being so misinformed. If it hot it global warming, according to SOME, not all of the pro-man made global warming crown, it get a little cold and it's what global warming.

Please read and learn about global climate then maybe we can talk.

  11. It's a very complicated concept.

I believe the technical term for what you're experiencing is "winter".

  12. First there is a chance that it does not exist, but that does not matter at all. Second, there is no reason except the human distate for change to risk global warming. Finally, we are all going to die from global warming because the Bible says so.

First, if you do not understand Chi Square, Anova, and quite a bit about probability and statistics it is no wonder that you are uncertain that global warming exists. We can all understand this math. Let's say there is only a 35% chance that global warming exists, and every scientist that thinks it may not exist thinks the odds are better than that. Then we all agree that there is a 35% chance life will be eliminated from the Solar System and possibly the Universe by our actions. It doesn't matter if the doubters are correct. The consequences of being wrong are too high to take a chance.

Once we all agree that there is even a tiny chance that we are doing the worst thing imaginable. What are the costs? We have to change where we get our energy from. Scary. Humans are ridiculously lazy about learning anything new. Not very long ago the economy of the western world was based on domestic service.  People fought the change to industrialization but somehow we muddled through that. During the first years of the industrial age our machinery required buffalo hides for pulleys. We did not change that until we killed them all. Finally we switch to rubber. Guess what! It worked better! This is just another change. This time from coal and petroleum to nuclear, wind, and solar. We will be glad about it soon.  All that we have to give up is polluted air.

None of this matters any way because God himself told Noah that the next time he destoys the earth it will be by fire. We all assumed that a fireball would come down from God's hand but we also thought it would be a nuclear war, and finally the sun expanding to engulf the earth. Why couldn't the fire just be fossil fuels burning on the earth until there is enough Carbon Dioxide to cause global warming?

Even if there is only a 20% chance that we are correct believing that we are destroying all life in the solar system it just does not matter that there is an 80% chance that there is no global warming. All that we have to give up is bad smelly air, and it is just our human nature that keeps us from wanting to change it all. Of course, in the end whether the fire that God will destroy the Earth with comes from his hand or has been burning since the dawn of the industrial age it does not matter. Life on the planet will end eventually any way.

  13. This is like asking: If the world is really round, why is it so flat where I live?

  14. The chaotic nature of weather means that no conclusion about climate can ever be drawn from a single data point, hot or cold. The temperature of one place at one time is just weather, and says nothing about climate, much less climate change, much less global climate change.

  15. In some parts of the world places are d**n heat. They cause other places to go lower degrees. Do the math.

  16. I hear ya honey.

  17. you don't really seriously that global warming means we will never see another day of snow, do you????? you need to look up what global warming  is, and what it means before you jump to these conclusions.

  18. In a couple years it will take affect, for sure. Its the dead of winter, its not going to be hot out, even if global warming has taken action. But you and your children will be affected. SAVE THE EARTH FROM DISASTER!
