global warming is NOT about economics, it is about power. governments, and activists want more power than the people are willing to give, but when you have an issue like global warming that can affect the world, well now you have something that you can pass laws about and gain power by forcing people and business as well as governments to your will.

Not a chance.  The only reason they're fighting it is because it will require us to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, which will force us to change our behavior and have an impact on the economy.
