Nello not if you doubt the validity of the Qu'ran,

A good definition of the son is this. If I built an android will that be my son. i think so and so do a lot of people.

  1. When John the Baptist baptized Jesus a voice came from the heavans and said "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased"

Please note that Jesus himself never called himself the Son of God until after he spent 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness..up to that time he called himself the Son of Man.  Some anti Christians believe that the 40 days in a heat blazed desert with scant food and water had an effect on his mind.

  2. He's got angels, heaven, h**l, this world, us, why need a son?

He is like none other. He's not human.

This human "CONCEPT" shouldn't be associated with Him.

He is He. Unlike any other. Period. I said Period.

edit: So tell me, why a son? What in your opinion, is having a son change anything?

  3. I agree with what Anita said.  God is omnipotent and can do anything He pleases.  He does not have the need to have s*x to create a Son because he can do anything He wants and proved that in one way by creating His son Jesus Christ.  When one cannot accept this then one denies the powers of God.

  4. if so then why did he have an impotent son? Doesn't fit for a God to have a son who is mortal.

    Give it a thought

  5. Allah is above all, everyone and everything, he does not need a son

  6. why do not you accept quotes from Qur'an?are you afraid to lose this debate with Quran, quz Qur'an already answered your question.

okay we are going to accept your condition, just answer me what do you mean by(SON)???!!

A son is a male offspring; a boy, man, or male animal in relation to either or both of his parents. The female equivalent is a daughter(Wekkipedia).

do you agree with this definition?if so,then that means this son as same as his father, and that son might one day control his father's properties, if he wants, quz he is as strong as his father (specially when the father gets older)  and he has his owen will,if you told me his will belongs to his father's will, then he is not a son,he is a CREATURE,and GREAT PROPHET(peace be upon him)

I am just asking myself ,you and everyone in this world,to look for the truth and struggle for that and once we get it,then we have to accept it, and we have to remember that we can not find the truth by ourselves with out helping from God,it's just like when I am  looking for my pen and I carry it in my hand in the same time, and I just say"who the h**l did take my pen?".....!!! hope you got the last example, and you completed reading my long reply, our God and your God is one,God bless.

There is a big significant difference between a SON and a CREATURE

    --------------------------------------...

Mr. apachowko,I just do not understand your logic, can you please define what SON means in your point of view?also please remember that the definition up is not mine.

Do you know that Qur'an has answered your question?just asking!!

  7. If hes omnipotent and eternal he doesnt need a son, does he? its also doubtful if he needs dental treatment, colonic irrigation or needs to get up frequentlly in the night to relieve himself.     This is called answering a fool according to his folly.

  8. We were taught at school that Jesus is the son of God - we are all his children and he doesn't need to pay child support?

  9. He can! but He won't do something that does not suite His dignity.

In the same manner we can associate any bad things to God,

If God is omnipoten why can't He tell lie?

If God is omnipoten why can't He die?

If God is omnipoten why can't He create another god same as Him?

So.. there can be many questions like that..

Finally, words "can" and "can't" does not apply to God. It is His "Will" that is under discussion.

    Edit: Read this..

2:116 And yet some people assert, "God has taken unto Himself a son!" Limitless is He in His glory! Nay, but His is all that is in the heavens and on earth; all things devoutly obey His will.

Having a son make someone out of authority of God, while He is master of everything that exists. There is a differebce between son and servant.

  10. surly if he wanted a son he could have as many as he wants, however and omnipotent doesn't do useless things, a son is for inheritance and continuity of the race, God by definition doesn't need that as well as he doesn't need anything else while everything need him.

so he simply doesn't do it.

    @Asker

you got very good and logical answers, now you have only 2 choices, either accept reality or act as an omni-ignorant.

    what would it be?

    @Asker

"...God needs a son to show love" do you actually read what you post? and do you actually believe that?

    @Asker

you are free to believe whatever you want.

  11. god being powerful an all, can he create sumthing that he, himself can not lift? lol anotha stupid question.

Why does god need a son? just why? hes god, omnipotent!

  12. Jesus ??

  13. It is too easy to say that God could have a son but it becomes difficult when you think about it.

Is God a job? Is divinity permanent or can it be bestowed from one being to another? What do you mean God can have a son? A son is a being which resembles the father. Since the alleged son is created by God, then the son isn't a son after all because the father is not created and thus doesn't resemble the son. What do you think?

    ---------------------------- ------------------------------- ----------------------------

How is it circular? Can you please tell me the "vice-versed" version?

    ---------------------------- ------------------------------- ----------------------------

So you really call that "vice-versaing"?! Read what you wrote again. A son is a being which resembles its parent. God was NOT created and you know that as well. So how are you going to tell me that God has a son? It is illogical. Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to God and is a servant of God no matter how much they deny it, and now you say that he takes a son?

And a son IS indeed different from a servant.

  14. Muslims say that God is all powerful but still say this all powerful being cant have a son if he wishes

God has millions and sons and daughters

    we humans

  15. if God wished to have a son, all He need do is say "be" and He would have one

    HOWEVER

ALLAH is far above that which people associate with Him. He does not have animal desires , need a wife, need s*x.. anything close to that. He has close personal friends (ie Nabi Ibrahim, Nabi Muhammad, saws)

  16. Thank you for asking this question.

    These are nine clear reasons

    1. If you read the old testement and the new testement there is enough evidence in there to know, without doudt, that there is only one God.

    2. God is uncreated therefore he is not like man who needs to have children for the race to contine.

    3. This is making God or viewing God as a mere man which is absurd because of the greatness of God.

    4. All the prophets came with one message God is one, They did not say anything like there is another part or anything similar.

5.If he can give birth does he need that child to survive because God is going to die? This is another fallacy because does not need anything everything needs him. So to have a child is not something that an uncreated being, who is beyond the understanding all of mankind, could do.

    6. The trinity breaks the first two commandments which are:

    A. I am the Lord your God

    B. You shall have no other gods before me

So believe in the trinity negates these beliefs. That God is one and there are no other gods. This is simplified in the Islamic belief, "There is no deity except God."

    7. Lets look at the new testement and see what Jesus (upon him peace) said himself.

Mathew 4, 10, "Then Jesus said to him... Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God , and him alone shalt thou serve."

So this proves that there is one God and no sons him alone shall you serve.

Mathew 19, 18, "keep the commandments."

“If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.” (Matthew 19:17, also see Mark 10:19).

He also said that Jesus is the servant of that God, for we read in Acts: “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus.” (Acts 3:13). This confirms his belief in what came before and what will be so anyone believing in the Trinity is believing something other that what Jesus himself believed.

8.The New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967) discusses the Trinity at length and admits: “The Trinitarian dogma is in the last analysis a late 4th-century invention. . . . The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century.”

    9. All these verse prove that he is not diety because:-Jesus talked about God as His God, but God has no God. He talked to God as if they were seperate, if he was part of the same being then why would he need to talk. He could just think.

-Jesus prayed to God instead of to himself. Did Jesus worship himself? How is that possible!!

-Jesus got hungry and thirsty (Matt. 4:2; John 19:28), but God never gets hungry or thirsty (Psalm 50:9-13; Acts 17:25). How can a deity need food? that means he needs something, how can a god be in need? This negates deity.

-Jesus was tempted by the devil (Matt.4:1 & Heb.4:15), but God cannot be tempted (James 1:13). This means that the devil can control god, how can that be correct!

-Jesus learned obedience and grew up into a mature and perfect man (Hebrews 5:9), but God never changes (James 1:17). How can god grow? so was he eternally as a child or as an adult this is cannot be

  17. God is alpowerful, as you said. Everything belongs to Him. How does it befit Him to impose human limitations on himself? God can stub his toe, walking in the street?

He has no limitations, but that people ascribe things to Him from their own impulses.

Edit: Yeah, on this point, He told us VERY clearly and repeatedly in Al Qur'an.  No mistaking His mind on this.

  18. Yes exactly. If God is omnipotent then He can do anything He likes, & He doesn't have to explain himself to humans. He can be His own son if he wants & He could have come to earth as human form if He wanted.

Edit: Asker- thank you. My point is that you cannot call God omnipotent and then put limits on the things he is able to do. It is all or nothing, you can't have it both ways. Anyway who are humans to say that God has certain limits and is not able to do certain things? If He is omnipotent then He is perfectly capable of anything, and to say He isn't capable is to deny His power.

  19. He does.

  20. God CAN have a son if He chooses to, but having one would disqualify his from being God.

Just like God can be unjust if He wants to, but doing so would disqualify him from being God.

Why does God need to have s*x with a woman who gives birth to Himself, who then dies on a cross to forgive His own subjects?  If everything belongs to God, then to whom exactly did He sacrifice Himself to?

There, there are no quotes from the Qur'an, only simple logic.  Hope this gets your mind jogging.

  21. Many good answers already given. But you seem to be unsure about what a son means. If God creates without s*x how this creature can be called a son? How do you define someone to be the Son of another entity in general?

Edit: You are still avoiding the question. What is your definition of a Son?
