  1. I going to wait and see where this hurricane goes..the government will do what they do in cases like this if this hurricane comes to New Orleans and destroys it again

  2. Lets hope that good sense prevails. If obama goes in, you can bet the whole welfare dump will be rebuilt.

  3. I hope not! The Bush administration really Screwed it up the First time. Fact is, New Orleans is Still Trashed out. If we have to Depend on  FEMA to Help them, we are in deep trouble. Personally, I think the Federal Gov. should Not be the One to Bail them out! What is wrong with the State taking care of its OWN Citizens!!! Where has the State's Governor been? Out playing Golf? Time for them to take at Least Some Responsibility for Its Own People.

  4. If someone wants to build a home in a risky area I absolutely believe they should be allowed to. HOWEVER I most definitely believe if they are that DENSE that they should incur the cost of the destruction! Why should I pay for someones stupidity. And as to the "nice comment on the anniversary of Katrina" remark... Give me a break! I'm human and I feel for every family effected by ANY disaster but that doesn't excuse a lack of common sense. Hate me if you will but this country needs to STOP PAYING for people to re-build in ANY area of the country that is routinely hit by natural disasters!

  5. Yes probably, I said it last time just let that city go and be what nature wanted it to be the lower mississippi river basin a proof that man cannot tame nature. The entire city is under sea level and in flood and hurricane zone. But again who ever is in office and in charge of disaster relief will again take the brunt of blame and complaints.

  6. Well, turn the situation around. Would you want your area to be rebuilt if massive floods and winds destroyed it? Or an earthquake? Do you ask the same question of CA when wildfires destroy land and home after home? Forgive me in advance if I seem a little offended by your question. I am a little offended b/c it seems as though you would be perturbed if they did have to rebuild. As a lifetime resident of LA and a 11 year resident of an area 30 miles north of New Orleans, I can say that yes, this is very scary and nerve wracking. For the sake of it's residents, I hope that the city stays alive and well. For New Orleans is the key to our culture here in the Big Easy. I start my evacuation early in the a.m. and I look forward to my return to the area. No matter what condition it may be in at that time.

  7. I was just recently there, about two weeks ago, for a week.  It pretty much rain the whole time I was there.  I remember thinking I hope there is not another Katrina especially while I was there.  Yes, they are rebuilding and I would not say the government was forced to rebuild the city and so what if they have to assist again, it is not that city faults.  That is Mother Nature call.

  8. The American taxpayer rebuilt Trent Lott's Beach House, too.

  9. If it gets hit again I imagine there will be some serious discussion on whether to channel funds into that place again. On the down side those people have to go somewhere and with the crime statistics that followed the first bunch they're not going to be welcomed with open arms. So rebuilding may be the only answer.

  10. yes its part of the deal of being an american state. big brother taking care of little brother
