Some say it would be awkward to either have or not have President Bush and Cheney or to try to muster enthusiasm for the McCain Palin ticket. What do you think?

  1. Many of the centrists are awkward with Bush speaking, since they feel that he has severely injured the GOP.   Some in the GOP wonder whether Bush and Cheney will have legal problems (see reference).

So, a GOP convention is pretty hard to keep upbeat.

Bottom line, it makes no diff when they have it, it will provide as much excitement as a "flight plan briefing" (Pat Buchanan's words.)

  2. The Republicans are a bunch of insincere, self-interested idiots. They will do whatever it takes to make themselves look good- like care of the people of the Gulf Coast when they did NOTHING to help them during Katrina. It's too late for redemption.

  3. I think your question is a little crazy. It only hurts McCain to not have the convention.

  4. If Gustav peters out will republicans use it as an excuse to ask stupid questions?

  5. First Moore, Olberam and the former head of the DNC praised God for the hurricane.  Ooops!  Bad form!  They got busted for that!

So now...they're accusing McCain who offered to reel in his convention out of respect and use it as a telethon so to speak to collect donations, they're accusing him of USING the hurricane.

    Make up your minds!

  6. No, Democrats will be busy thanking God that a disaster was avoided.

  7. How about that Bush can be blamed for causing Gustav and McCain can be blamed for spoiling the convention.  Are you Democrats really that desperate.
