  1. She tried, this link will explain the story all in full why her hands were tied and nothing was done.

  2. he governed by polling results. the polling results were the same then as they are now. the majority of people don't want state-sanctioned health care. Most people realize the reality of what our government has done to the social security system, that the government can not be trusted with our money and want a smaller government. the only ones that don't realize it STILL are the wacky extremist libs that took over the democrat party, led by Stretch Pelosi and her do nothing congress, and the empty communist suit Obama

  3. Too much opposition from other politicians and too many conflicting plans among those she was trying to muster support from.

  4. Bill Clinton never really got the full support of congress for a Universal Health care plan. When the Republicans started a fear monger campaign, the media publicized it and threw in an added voice to the growing disinformation provided strategically by the GOP. Even when Democrats start to be told they had better vote against universal health care by their constituency,  they think about their re-election, and start voting against good ideas.

  5. He had a Republican congress, more concerned with his s*x life than the health of the American people.

Lets be honest here, as history has shown the Republicans were in the pocket of the insurance companies, who launched a complete ad campaign promising that with a universal health care program no one would have their own doctors anymore.

The companies were pushing for HMOs at the time, they figured it would be a cash cow for them.  They didn't bargain on actually having sick people needing care.  So they denied them the approvals.  So the people went to the state insurance boards to get the companies to give them what they thought they had paid for.

Hillary had several meetings to get ideas on how to run things, for this she was, and is, criticized for her work. This is where the original hatred for her comes from. Tear her down, rip up her work, and the insurance companies go on their merry way.

Both she and her husband tried to get something accomplished but the obstructionists wouldn't let her.

The insurance companies won, we lost, HMOs don't let you go to the doctor of your choice now, neither do regular insurance companies, you have to go to someone on their list or you pay out of pocket.

    Cute huh?

  6. I agree with the first answer.  Plus her husband was too busy straightening out the mess that the 1st Bush left.  Now we have to go in and clean up after the 2nd Bush.  Will this country never learn.  God speed Obama

  7. All the corporations intertwined with Republicans, embarked on a massive propaganda campaign. These corporations would've lost billions, and people finally some affordable care.

They had billions to burn and used media propaganda machines to completely trash any hopes. Still today all those myths are lingering on.

  8. That's a great idea.  p**s the Hillary supporters off some more.

What, were you like 5 when Bill Clinton was elected?

    fs

  9. When they tried the Republicans had a bone fide shite fit and screamed so loud and long that the issue became more of a rally cry for Republicans against government than an issue needing resolved for those without health care.
