If Hitler was born in another time, would of he ever come to power?

I've got a essay due in soon for homework. And this was the question they asked. What is your opinion? Please answer with a detailed answer, really need help

Probably-- there are dictators alive today who rule with impunity. It wasn't so long ago that Saddam Hussein ruled Iraq. Kim Jong Il rules North Korea- The Chinese still practice dictatorial government, Robert Mugabe still holds sway in Africa. There are always opportunities and ambitious people who will take advantage of the opportunity. That is why we, as Americans, are charged by the Founding Fathers to be vigilant. Most distressing to me is the willingness of our people to depend on the Government for everything--when the Government runs everything, you have the same situations as Dictatorships--other people who make your decisions for you, and dictate what you may and may not say and do.

Government bailouts,national health insurance,higher taxes to redistribute wealth (socialism=USSR!)----danger signs!

It is probably not so much the time Hitler was in power as it is the political  and economic stability of Germany during his rise.  There are certainly current countries facing the same sort of problems, and there have been additional genocides as a result.  You may want to look at some of the propaganda Hitler used to convince the German people that he was the solution to their situation.  He had a lot of charisma, and was eloquently spoken, driven, and well connected, things which certainly help us pick leaders of today.

No way. Hitler prayed upon people's anger over the result of WW I, in which the league of nations put some restrictions on Germany, which caused hyper inflation.  Hyper inflation was evident when people would work for a full day's pay, then carry their day's pay to the bank in a wheel barrow, but by the time they got there, the money was worthless.
