Question:

If Honda ever came into NASCAR, would Hendrick Motorsports switch to them?

I heard something about them being huge supporters of Honda, and if they ever came into NASCAR HMS would probably switch over to Honda. Rick Hendrick does own several Honda dealerships, and some say Honda eventually may join NASCAR (I don't really think they will, at least not for a while).

What would your thoughts be if that ever happened? To me, it wouldn't really matter, but I'd like to hear what some diehard Hendrick/Jr. fans think.

  1. After Chevy backing Hendrick all these years, I just don't see those "good 'old boys" switching to Honda.

  2. I don't see that happening for awhile but you never know. I do know that when Junior was leaving DEI the top priority for him was to be driving Chevy's. If this should happen, I guarantee Junior would be gone in a heart beat. It's probably even written in his contract. Junior grew up with Chevy and will stay true to his word. If anyone has seen anything about his home, there are Chevrolet things all over the place. It's even in his saloon. They always say never say never but this time I say never.

As far as Jimmy n Jeff, I really don't know. My guess would be that they would stay with Hendrick. Mark Martin, he'll drive anything.   =o`))

  3. No matter what Jeff Gordon drove he'd always be my favorite driver.

  4. I doubt that. I think I may have heard that same thing, but still I don't think they would switch. I've heard that Penske was a big Toyota supporter & they haven't switched.

If they did I don't think it'll matter to me too much. It will matter to Dale though.

  5. Hopefully IF it were to happen, it wouldn't happen until Jr's current contract is close to expiring, so he could get up out of there.

  6. As long as Chevy can stay competitive I think Rick will stay with them.  He is a smart businessman and the core NASCAR fan will tend to cheer for a "domestic" make before they will support a seemingly foreign manufacturer.  You and I both know that GM outsources quite a bit but it is still a matter of perception.  If it came down to a question of being competitive or not that would be hard for Rick.  He likes making lots of money but he definitely likes to win.  If he can do both with a GM product I don't see him changing horses for a long time.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  7. wow....Nascar Nation would be in an uproar if that ever happend...i wouldn't mind, as long as they're still RACING!!

I enjoy stock car racing...i focus more on the drivers skill during a race, and not on what kind of car he has.

  8. I would still be a fan, though it'll give more fans a reason to hate them.

  9. I don't think that would happen but I wouldn't rule it out, stranger things have happened. I think I would remain a HMS fan .

  10. I think his partnership with Chevy is too good to ever give it up
