  1. Most important part of the bike is the top tube as very little alteration can be done on reach. On the Giant SCR, a comfort road model , a med frame 50cm, this has 55cm top tube. Incorporating this with a 100mm stem , I think this would be a relaxed position for you. Try one at your local bike store, one that staff belonging to a local cycle club, preferably roadies. Must common road bike fitting is neck and shoulder pain, coming from too long a top tube length.

  2. I think you would look s**y with a road bike, just judging by your avatar. Hit me up sometime!

  3. Go to bike store and try it . I think that you may need 19 inch frame . You like to ride comfortable and you do not want to suffering on each ride because frame geometry do not suit to your figure . Crouch must fit over the top tube of the frame . There must be 1/2 to 1  inch clearance when you step over . You do not want big or small frame , bicycle must fit to you when on ride perfectly . Also legs position and knee alignment when you pedaling is most important thinks .  There is trend today about slope frame geometry and I can tell you that some cyclist do not like it at all !  So best is to try out  if bike will fit to you . Good luck .

  4. Bike fit has allot more to do with your Fitness and Focus and much less to do with your Frame than you would think.

How strong of a rider are you and what will you be doing on the bike?

Are you male or female makes a big difference as Ladies have often longer legs than men for your height.

Are you cruising , touring or racing ?

If you are out of shape and have allot of weight to loose in the middle start with a smaller comfort bike with an upright geometry.

If you are in reasonable shape you will need to go to a local bike shop and be fitted on a bike while riding on a trainer.

Seat height, position, and angle are just a couple of key adjustments that are critical.

Comfort with full exertion will be the key and as you get stronger your size preference will change as you become more flexible and reach further to drop out of the wind.

Cycling is excellent exercise for almost any age . It stimulates the Body to grow stronger and somehow this makes you a stronger person in every way. Safety comes first. Then chase your goals and you will have more fun than you ever dreamed of.

  5. Verbosity can be bad here.  I'm  a hair taller than you and ride a 53 cm road bike.  That's a good starting point for you, and will likely be the ending point.
