Hello!

I'm going to London sometime in August to do a 4-week General English course. To get to the UK, I need to obtain a visa.

I checked the following website http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/faresandtickets/1014.aspx but got a little confused about if I'm eligible for the +18 Oyster photocard?

I'm in full education here in Russia and I am 18.

Could someone be more specific and clear about the card? Is it possible to arrange it online?

I would appreciate any information and help with that.

  1. yes! you can get the card...

And it will make your life easier to go here and there, cos transport can cost you loads depending on how much you intend to walk around.

Oyster is London's ticketing and revenue system. At its heart is the Oyster card, a 'smartcard' which makes buying and using tickets easier.

you can get it on the website: https://oyster.tfl.gov.uk/oyster/entry.d...

    With oyster:

        * Oyster single fares are generally cheaper

        * Credit can be used as you need it and doesn't expire

        * Daily price capping automatically calculates the cheapest fare for the journeys you make in a single day

  2. dont think you can get the +18 student card. as you need to be doing like atleast 10hours a week education. and it takes like 1 week to get the card. because you need to go to a post office. get a form then fill it out. then goto the post office. pay £5 i think. then it takes time for it to arrive. just get the normal oyster card in the shops.
