If I'm a minor in the u.s (18) and I'm found with unopened alcohol can they arrest me? read

I will be driving from west to east of the u.s, a very long drive however I have some foreing alcohol from my last trip to brazil and colombia, which I bought legaly in those countrys and now I want those 2 bottles to be a present to the people that I'm staying with in georgia, however if I get pulled over and searched, will I be in a major problem? Arrested fined?? Help

You could be charged for being underage and in possession of alcohol.  It doesn't matter if they are unopened or not.  You may have bought them legally in Brazil but they are illegal to possess in the US.

It would be up to the charging Officer if he/she wants to arrest you or just write you a ticket for it.  I suspect if you are out of state you probably would be arrested and made to post a bond.

if mexicans are allowed to drive without a license throughout the usa, i'm sure the cops don't care if someone has an unopened bottle of booze.  Just keep it in the bottom of your suitcase, far out of reach.  The cops have no reason to search you unless you look like a  gangster.

Yes, it is called 'minor in possession', or MIP. My nephew got 3 of them and now he's walking until he's 21.

If you get pulled over and they find the alcohol (whether or not it is opened) you will be cited for MIP and they will confiscate the alcohol.  Best bet is to UPS it ahead of your trip and tell the people you will be visiting not to open it until you get there.  That way you are safe and you still get to give them the bottles.

Minors cannot be in possession of alcohol, meaning you could get in trouble for having it in your vehicle.  The alcohol would be confiscated, probably poured down the drain in front of you, and you would get a citation and released, unless you caused problems, upon which you would be arrested.

they can arrest you for minor in possession. but i doubt they will if you explain to them why you have them. I think your best bet would be A . Don't get pulled over. and B. Wrap them like presents. they won't suspect anything if they see two brightly wrapped box shaped presents
