Hey everybody,

I've never dyed my hair before, and right now it's a golden blond. I would like to dye it just a tint lighter since the color now is uneven and darker underneath. My question is, do I need to bleach my hair before dying it the new color in order for it to work?

Thanks so much for your help!

  1. just go to a salon and get highlights

  2. The only way to go to a lighter color is to bleach it.. It doesn't really sound like you know what you're doing or talking about, so I would suggest going to a salon and having it done so that you don't mess up your hair.

  3. i suggest u dont even think about dying ur hair lighter blonde because that could realy damage ur hair. just use sun in . thats what i do and it works realy quick and its safe on ur hair . so u dont get split ends from dieing it.  all u do is put it in after a shower and then as ur in the sun or outside or heck even blow dry or straiten ur hair it gets to be blonder than before.  :)

  4. Just take an oxidant 6% (20) with color N 10 or 11 Schwarzkopf , Igora or Wella  . Put it on your hair but DO not cover hair!

  5. The blonde dye will have bleach or peroxide in it so that is all you need.

  6. natural is best

  7. no, i wouldn't bleach it. just dye your hair the lighter blond you want it to be or maybe just lighter blond highlights would look good.

  8. no you wouldn't have to bleach it because your hair is already light enough for the dye to show up.
