It seems that none of the american stores have their capacitors noated in nF, only pF and uF... so now how would I put in 100nF

  1. You should try 0.1 uF

  2. nF is nano Farad.  A nano is one thousand times larger than pF or pico Farad.  So 100nF is equall to 100 thousand Pico Farad.

A uF is mico Farad.  The u is actually the greek letter for micron or one millionth of a Farad.

    uF is 10^-6

    nF is 10^-9

    pF is 10^-12

    So a 100nF cap is is 0.10uF.

Make sure to look at the voltage rating.  All capacitors are rated in voltage and storage because the dielectric material dictates standoff voltage.  Generally speaking, for any size "can" the higher the voltage, the lower the storage.  The lower the voltage, the higher the storage.

  3. here is a conversion chart

  4. capacitor manufacturers seem to be very shaky in their numbering.

try 0.1uF, sometimes mislabeled as 0.1mF

    .

  5. Well 100 nF is 0.1 µF and also 100,000 pF. So look for those values.
