  1. If you are studying purely theoretical politics, then no, you can stay out of politics.

But if you are on "the ground level" and stay away from a certain leaning, then your education doesn't have real practical value.  But I do not think you have to join a party.  You do however have to apply your knowledge.

  2. nope,

  3. NOT AT ALL

  4. It helps.

  5. Not at all!!! Its a study of political structures and behavior, you should not look at politics with partisan eyes but with scientific ones.  Outside of your studies you should follow what you think is best and join a party if it seems appropriate to you.

  6. To disect POLITICS one does not need to declare! Understanding human behavior is enough! Talk Show Pioneer Jack Parr declared "I don't vote it encourages them!

  7. Not at all.  I would rather get my information from a neutral party, anyway - and so would a lot of others!

    Good luck with your studies.

  8. Joe Lieberman has been in politics for a very long time and is currently partyless. I would say that you don't need to join a party. In fact, as you progress through your studies you may find that one or the other party appeals to you more.

Also, if you want to get an internship/job in congress, it seems better to me if you are either the same party as the member or partyless. Since you never can tell who your representatives are going to be until after they get elected, it is probably better to stay uncommitted.
