...should I leave him alone on first base, or is he fair game to try to pick off?

well heck, pick him off if he gets on the base and you can. Who cares if you pegged him. He will just get a bruise and then get over it. Pick his butt off if you can lol

As a pitcher it is your responsibility and obligation to your team to try and pick off anyone at first base that is trying to take a big lead off.

If you intent was to hurt him then it is fair game but if u did it by acident and feel sorry for him den i guess u shouldnt try to pick off

You should try to pick him off unless you hit him near his head or hurt him. You put him there for free, so why not try to undo the damage?
