  1. I agree - just get a good quality pair of shoes.  I don't like using pads for Latin dancing.  I like to be able to feel the floor when I move, and gel pads prevent me from doing this.  I also found that my gel pads liked to slip out/fall out when I did quick footwork or numerous turns.  Also, if you have strappy shoes or revealing shoes, they can often stick out or hang off on the sides.  For me, they just get in the way.

Your feet will be tired & achy either way.  If you get blisters from the shoes, use a band-aid or sport tape before putting the shoe back on.  After your shoes get "worn in" it should be easier to dance and you wont have to worry about insoles at all.

gels are great for pointe!  but for Latin, no so much

    Hope this helps!

  2. gel insoles are a bad idea, you won't be able to feel the floor properly. Yea, your feet will probably end up a little bit sore, but then, no pain, no gain :D
