I'm super tired lately. I have so much to do, and I just am playing so many matches lately, I really would love to have a gallon of espresso before and during my match. Would that be bad?

  1. Before the match should be fine.  But during the match, drink sport drinks like G2 instead.  Coffee does not have electrolytes, drinks like G2 has.  Good luck :)

  2. No. Tommy Haas has coffee right before his matches. Coffee will stimulate you.

  3. Coffee is ok.. it just stimulates you.. have it if you are sleepy not if you are tired!!!

but wat u really need is somethin which'l give u some energy.!! eat a couple of bananas before the match..

and during the match u can grab a bite between every four games or so!!

Professional players do it.. i do it too.. N IT HELPS!!!

  4. You could have a gallon of coffe but the crash later would be devastating. I wouldn't even recommend caffine drinks. I say go with a power bar, maybe something light to eat. Try and get some rest before a match, and if that isn't possible, maybe lay off tennis a few days, get your strenght back. That would be better than eating power bars or drinking coffe. Plus you will play better fully rested

  5. coffee will dehydrate you, so it is not a good idea. plus you will want to go pee a lot, not a good idea.

  6. Coffee is okay for a quick jolt of energy, but that will eventually lead to you crashing halfway through a match. A power bar and some gatorade would be better to sustain your stamina for an entire match. The power bar will give you a good source of protein and fill your stomach so you won't cramp up and the electro-lights and sugar in the gatorade will give you more energy that will last longer in your system than the caffeine that is in coffee.

  7. It would all depend on how your body reacts to caffeine.  Although in any case I would not suggest drinking coffee during the match.  You'll be running enough to get your heartrate up, so there's no need to add caffeine to that mix.  The biggest problem you might have is that coffee is a diuretic and tends to increase dehydration so you'll need to remain extra hydrated during the match.
