If I'm to test a system as to its suitability for release, don't I need ...?

.. a method to automatically build a composite of legacy systems.

... a method for running the "system for release" alongside the "composite of legacy systems"

.. a method for taking all this to sea for operational trials if need be, with an ability to

run the "system for release" at sea, with an indication if the "composite of legacy solutions" is generating a different result, and an ability to transfer "recommendations" from the "composite of legacy systems" to the "system for release".

It's "not rocket science". If I am using a new phone book, I might want to keep old phone books available, so if I can't find a number in the new book, there might be information in the old books that would assist.
