  1. I know personally: If you pay it off, and call ChexSystems to get a report that your account with them is clear, you should be able to get an account. I don't know where you live, but if there's a Wachovia near you, try there. Or maybe a credit union.


  2. Varies by State. In MN - Banks are not allowed to open accounts for people with involuntary closures within a 12 month period. Each Bank may have their own policy which expands upon this.

  3. Pay off any balance that you owe, and then when it's paid, find a bank that will do a second chance checking account. Make sure you get confirmation of paying it off first.  Good Luck!
