If I Buy A LCD Wall Mount That Tilts Could I Place It Above Eye Level?

the mount has a 15 degree tilt. is this a bad idea

  1. In principle yes you can however the practical realities depend very much on your room layout, dimensions, screen sizes etc.

    In my experience the smaller the room and the larger the screen the less practical it becomes.

    So, for example, if you want to put a 42" screen above a typical fireplace and the distance from the fire place to the seating is less than 4m then it could make for uncomfortable viewing.

    Larger rooms mean that you may not even have to tilt a larger screen.

    Don't forget as well that tilting the screen means that you need a larger gap between the rear of the screen and the wall.  This can end up looking pretty ugly, especially with larger screens.
