I used to think my songs got deleted if I upgraded because they didn't appear in iTunes after the upgrade -  but the songs actually aren't gone.  They are still in your computer and just have to be re-added to the iTunes library.  Open iTunes and go to File - add folde to library.  Then go to My Documents - my music - itunes - itunes music.  Hope this help you find songs you thought you lost the last time!

  3. No. You shouldn't lose any or all your music upgrading to itunes7.7. If it does happen all you have to do is contact apple and they should fix your problem.
