  1. You can get sued for anything now days.

  2. YUP insurance doesnt matter, it just means theyll sue the insurance company if you are covered, if you arent covered, they sue you PERSONALLY

  3. yep its your car you gave permission fo rthem to drive your still in charged of cars... and for anything that happens  sorry i wouldnt  any one drive my car unless i was in it

  4. yes u can get sued.. i mean if u'r friend really needs the car make a little contract that say u'r not responsible for anything if other ppl or they get hurt have someone watch u the other person  both sign it...

  5. Yes, You may be sued but if your friend has insurance of their own, their own insurance should cover them in the event of an accident but your insurance will be "prime".  Ask them to call their insurance company to verify that they will be covered.  In any case, since you have only liability, I would not allow anyone else to drive my car.  You open yourself up to a whole lot of risk. You should have collision insurance on your car for your own protection.

  6. Insurance techincally only covers the owner of the car.  You have to remember...some people can't get insurance because they have to many points against their driving record.   Insurance companies are insuring YOU not your FRIEND.  You would be engaging in criminal negligence by allow an uninsured person to drive your car.  So yes you CAN and WILL be sued.

If I got hit then I would sue YOU and your FRIEND.  Probably win both cases.

PS..car insurance usually has what is called "Authorized Drivers".  If you're not authorized to drive the car then the insurance won't cover it.  So guess who the person that got hit would come after.  Probably your friend first.  If they can't pay then you're next.  So in retrospect you rolling the dice.

Better safe than sorry if you ask me.  Or put them on your insurance.

  7. YES!  Rule of the road # 2 is "Never allow anyone to drive your car."

  8. Yes.

The passengers would sue the driver for negligent operation and would name you as well -since you are the owner of the vehicle.

    In general:

Your insurance would be primary. It would be the first to pay for any injuries/damage the driver of your vehicle causes. The drivers insurance would be excess. That means, it would pick up after yours (if the injuries and damage were more than your policy limits).

** not legal advice - only a lawyer can give legal advice **

  9. If they absolutely have to borrow the car, make sure their insurance is paid up also.
