Question:

If I already hold CPL, do I still have to go through the training with Regional Airlines in India?

What happens in United States is, when you complete your training, you work as Certified Flight Instructor at that school. Then you can apply with Regional Airlines such as Skyway, American Eagle, GoJet etc.

What is the process in India?

What do fresh pilots do once they graduate from the school in India?

Don't they directly apply with Regional Airlines like Kingfisher, Air Deccan(fly ATR,CRJs and other turbo props.)? And work as Co-Pilot?

Thanks.

  1. "The  more  U  know,  U  know  how  little  U  know"

after your CPL, U require further training on the simulators in many airlines other than indians.

  2. Yes. after your CPL, you will require further training on the simulators based on the type of aircraft you would be flying. Expenses for that would be extra on your pocket. Normally, the companies charge you for getting you trained on the simulators (like for Airbus 300/310/320 in Hyderabad) but return the expenses once you complete the training in your monthly pay packet after you join as co-pilot.

Indian Airlines/Air India will get a deposit of Rs. 25 Lacs thru' post dated cheques for simulator training and you will have to sign a service bond also.

I would suggest that you visit the site below for more details...may be helpful.
