If I am 18, am I automatically eligible to serve alcoholic beverages in Florida?

I am applying for a job with the Marriot to hostess and maybe wait tables in one of their restaurants. They want to know if I am eligible to serve alcohol, and I am 18. I will not be applying for any bar-tending positions, so do I need some kind of special license or anything? Or does age automatically qualify you to serve alcoholic beverages?

  1. Drinking age is 21 in Florida, so I'd be surprised if you could serve alcohol at 18

  2. It depends on the employer

  3. Did they ask if you could specifically serve alcohol? Or just that you were 18? If they have a liqour license, they should know that answer. Every employer i've worked for has asked if I was at least 18. I've never worked in food either. It's just illegal to ask specific age and or birthdays.

If they have a liqour license, they should know that answer.

    I guess maybe i'm confused....

There are some states that allow 18 yr olds to serve mixed drinks just not mix them. It all depends on the state laws.
