  1. start with a 157 or 158. really it depends on your weight.

  2. depends what kind of ridin u do

i like to keep it at my chin area which is maybe a 151 for you when i jib on rails annd for pow a little longer board is way better  (maybe abot a 156)

  3. I'm going to SWAG a 156.  Depends on your boot size (if you have bid clown feet you may need a wide board) what you weigh (really more a factor in pow than hard pack) what you want to use it for (park/freeride/pipe) and the flex pattern.  A softer flex may allow you to ride a slightly longer board.

  4. it depends on your boot size and weight. basically your board should come up to about your nose. depending on what youre doing with it, parks & pipes or easy riding, itll be a little shorter or longer.

  5. I am also 5'9". I have riden a 161 (good for powder) a 159 (good allmountain), and I curruntly ride a 157 (good for park/allmountain). If you are < 160lbs then go for 154-155, if u are >160lbs go for the 157. Also if you have > size 10 1/2 boot go for a mid wide or wide board so that your toes are not hanging off to much.

  6. PSH dont listen to the above posts. You need about a 146. TRUST ME.

  7. 156 cm Board

  8. i wouldn't listen to steezsyn if i were you,  a 148 would be like a skate board.  i'm 5'11 and ride a 158.  i would go w/ a 154-156 if i were you.  my friend is 5-9 and has a 156 custom.

  9. Board size isn't just determined by height.  Weight and skillz also need to be considered.

Assuming you're average weight the general range for a board is collarbones to eyes.

If you're a beginner rider you will want to choose a shorter board so that you can turn more easily.  If you're a park rider you'll want a shorter board too.  Probably just below chin length for both of those situations.

If you're an advanced rider or mostly going to be riding in powder then you'll want a longer board, about mouth height or a bit taller.

A few centimeters don't make a huge difference (if you're not a super experienced rider) so don't sweat too hard when you're making your choice.

Head into some board shops - not just sports stores - and spend a few minutes chatting with the employees about what your options would be.  At these kind of stores they usually employ riders who will give you the best advice.  They should be starting to get things on sale and make sure to ask if there are any sales, this time of year they're often willing to knock the price down to move a board.

  10. I think it's a matter of personal preference IMO. I ride a 154 and I am only 5'1. They recommend much smaller, but I don't dig it. Ride a couple different sizes and see what you like best. Good luck.
