I have been working for this company for 13 years I am 55 they want to demote me and replace me with a 26 year old. I have only been written up twice and not for the same reason. If I quit will I win unemployment?

  1. most unemployment will not pay if you quit.

  2. Basically, you'd stand a better chance if it were a race problem rather than an obviously age one. If you have kept up your training, etc. then technically, they can call you what ever they want but not decrease your salary. If they decrease your salary, go to the labor board, because that's not legal unless its for disciplinary reasons. Watch out for trumpted up accusations. You may win unemployment but its not much and frankly, not worth fighting over. Best shot is to file a grievance with Labor Board and never ever let 26 year old see any sign of insubordination or he/she will have grounds to terminate you.

  3. no
