I was thinking about some nike slingshots, or taylormade racs.

  1. Oversize clubs are more forgiving of off-center hits but also offer less ability to manipulate the shot(fade or draw on purpose).  Some pro's use oversize clubs for their longer irons because they are easier to hit.  If your find yourself wishing you could hit a fade or draw and are unable to do so you should try the players clubs, otherwise stick with the oversize.

  2. I am 5 handicap and used forgiving irons until I my handicap switched to single digits.  I tried a set of Mizuno blades as well as Callaway but the best blades in my opinion are the Pings.  They are wonderful.

  3. Sure you can, but if you want to lower your handicap further you may want to use what they call "better player's clubs."  Try a forged cavity back iron.  Mizuno's newest is the MP57 that is projected for 0-12 handicaps.  Mizuno makes excellent irons.  If you are looking at Nike, try the Pro Combo OS if you are still wanting to hit an oversized club.

  4. A smaller club will be harder to hit. If you are truly a 9 handicap though, you should be able to hit any club. I would say that you should go to mizuno for the best line in the world. Try the mp57 mp60 or the mx23 or mx25. They are not very forgiving to slow swing speeds but if you play well, forged clubs are like hitting butter.

  5. Of course, you can use whatever you like. I can't stand these unspoken "rules" like higher scorers can't use this or that. Or only single digit hitters can use that...what a bunch of c**p! It just makes this beautiful game look snobbier than it is.

You can't accurately judge someones game by looking at their score, there's a lot more to golf than that.

  6. get the taylormade r7 tp irons. they have a medium head and thinner sole for more workability. they also are pretty forgiving for me to hit. ( Im a 17 handicap but my putting kills it).
