The fact that you are now a UK resident does not exempt you from obtaining a Schengen visa. The same applies to your family, unless they are nationals of a country whose citizens are not subject to Schengen visa requirements.

South Africans: South Africans should apply in advance for a Schengen visa to enter Spain. Passports should be valid for at least three months beyond expiry date of visa.
