  1. Vitamins is a good idea. dark green vegetables and beans are very high in protein too. Here's some websites you could go to:

( alot of these are for vegans, but it still applies to you )

    http://www.fatfreevegan.com/all.shtml

    http://www.vegan-food.net/image/

    http://www.teenshealth.org/teen/recipes/...

    http://www.vegkitchen.com

http://www.vegsource.com/nutrition/pyram...  - This is a good one, it shows all the things a vegetarian can get to get nutrition

  2. The main issue is IRON!

Take an iron supplement!  When you cut out meat your cutting out a lot of iron.  Are you a girl?

Well if you are your already iron compromised, due to our monthy cycle.  Thats pretty much all you need to be concerned with, all the other things you take from milk and eggs, and vegetables.

  3. I guess the biggest concern as a vegetarian for me is not getting enough iron. But i just try to eat more food with iron in it (tofu, brocoli, beans, etc.) but i also take supplements. If it helps you could go to a nutritionist.

  4. if u dont want to eat meat its nothing wrong but...eat other things like veggies....different types of them.....so u can have all the nutrition u need....no dont take vitamins regularly its not good....

  5. You need to start learning abut basics for starters such as fish is meat.

Second, research what are your own unique nutritional requirements.

Third, after learning about number two, you need to research what foods contain these nutrients and in what amounts, how much or how little do you need of what foods etc etc.

Fourth, try to follow an exercise regimen

Fifth, learn how to answer questions about your new lifestyle with class and maturity. People will be curious, interested or downright rude about being a vegtarian. Learn how to deal with all categories.

    Good luck

  7. peanuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  8. you don't need to take vitamins unless u don't eat veggies (in which case, you shouldn't be a vegetarian)

Your diet could consist of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, tofu, soy protein, beans, nut butters, dairy products, eggs, nuts, and fish for you

  9. No, you don't need vitamins to stay healthy.  However, it doesn't hurt to take a daily multivitamin (and it tends to keep parents off of your back about nutritional concerns.)

Fortified cereals, soy milk, whole grains (bread, pasta,) nuts, fresh fruits and vegetables, tofu, seitan, and tempeh are the staples of my diet.

  10. As a vegetarian, you can get everything you need but B12 from your diet- unless, of course, you consume products that are fortified with it. Most soy products these days are.

Here's the vegetarian food pyramid that should help you figure out how many of what food category you should be consuming.

There are plenty of vegetarian/vegan multi-vitamins out there but most are easily found online (I enjoy DEVA brand).

And always, you can consult a nutritionist/dietician that specializes in vegetarian diets. This is a great idea, especially at first, so you can more easily navigate through healthy food choices.

  11. you should eat a bowl of total in the mornings because is has 100% of a lot of the things you need... and if you put a little fruit in it, it tastes pretty good

  12. This website will cover pretty much everything you need to know:

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/vegetar...

    .

  13. I take a daily vitamin, mostly for the calcium, but lots of fruits and veggies and greens of all types and colors, beans, nuts and seeds for protein (though veggies contain it too). I'd get a nice cookbook to keep things interesting. When eating salads, I always use spinach leaves instead of lettuce because it's more nutritious.

I also drink wheatgrass here and there, or take the pills...but that's just something I think may be helpful, but am not positive.
