I am a Canadian citizen abroad. I want to call a Can. govt agency for info on forms, but they only accept calls from inside Canada and cut the line when I call from outside. They say my local embassy can help, but the embassy has no clue about my questions about the form. Is there a way anyone knows to make it seem like my call is originating in Canada, similar to when you alter your IP address on the internet?

  1. no, so what is your question? or shall i have not asked? the embassy is very capable of answering your request.............if the embassy is not capable? who is?

you can alter your IP, but it will not help.

  2. You could set up an internet phone line like vonage.  There you can set up your number to be from anywhere.  So give yourself a Canadian number, and call canada.

  3. Get a VoIP account with a Canadian phone number. You can then call anywhere in the world and Caller ID will make it look like you are calling from Canada.
