If I am an Independent child on my FAFSA?

If i claim as independent with one dependent child on my fafsa and have recieved food stamps and wic and made about 6700 last year does that mean ill get more money from grants and i also maintained a 3.0 last year in college, im getting ready to be a new mom so i was just wondering if ill get buttloads of aide or not?

  1. The only way to know this for sure is to apply for aid, then talk to the financial  aid department at your college about your F.A. package.    


  2. Yes you will definetly get much more money from financial aid and grants.  And since you are on food stamps you will automatically qualify for financial aid.
