Also, if anyone has any useful tipping etiquette regarding other wedding service providers that would be appreciated too. (ie. photographer, DJ, etc.)

  1. I don't know what denomination your minister will be from. I'm Episcopalian, so in addition to the priest's fee our family will make a donation in his name to the Rector's discretionary fund. Which allows him the use the money any way he sees fit for the church.

  2. Do not tip the minister or any officiant.  Feel free to invite him to the reception though.

Anyone else can get between 10-15% in cash or less depending on the job and how he or she performed it.  Don't spend more than 100-200 dollars on individual tips.

    Congratulations.

  3. It may not be etiquette to tip the minister but you know he would appreciate it!!

  4. I would not tip the minister.  As the article in the following link suggests, it's kind of in bad taste...just pay what he charges.  But if you want to do more, maybe give a contribution to their church.

  5. yes you do

  6. Pay the Pastor one check on the day of your wedding.   An appropriate amount would be $300-500 depending on where you live.  My husband and I take wedding pictures as a hobby. I would never expect (or want) a tip in addition to what I was paid for the job. It is my responsibility to charge an amount that will cover my costs and give me a small profit.  Getting a tip would never occur to me. If you are looking to compliment a great photography job, write a letter of thanks to the photographer, and tell him he can use it in future advertising. Or let them use you for a reference.   I have heard of people tipping the waitresses at the reception- giving the caterer one amount that would be divided among the wait staff.  Otherwise, I would not tip anyone else.

  7. my preacher is doing it for free but we are giving him $100 dollars and ofcourse him and his wife will be joining us for the dinner afterword at the reception. i believe they dont make much so make sure to show them you appreciate them.
