If I am moving to a new state in August, will I need to get an absentee ballot from the one I'm registered in?

Or can I register to vote in the new state when I get there?

  1. You'll need to have an absentee ballot and yes you can use it even if you move.


  2. Both Answers you have got so far are correct  If your new state Home is going to be permanent Your best choice is to register at the new Addresse, so you can take part in local election issues.

  3. Well you'll have to change your driver's license information and stuff like that anyway.  It's not a good idea to do an absentee ballot in your old state if your moving in August.  Just register to vote in your new state, it doesn't take very long and that way you know the vote will count, because if someone finds out that your living in another state the vote will not count.

  5. If you are moving permanently, you should register to vote in your new state. You should not vote absentee in your old state if you no longer live there.
