  1. You will have a slight increase in the amount in your breast milk, but your child will get all of the Vitamin D needed from sunlight exposure. It is very rare for a exclusively breastfed baby to have a vitamin D deficiency. No need to supplement.

  2. Your vitamin D intake does not effect the amount of vitamin D in your breastmilk.  Your baby probably does not need a supplement...the trend seems to be for doctors to recommend that all nursing babies take a vitamin D supplement.  As long as your baby doesn't live in an underground lair and get slathered with sunscreen everytime that she is outside, she should produce enough vitamin d on her own.

  3. No, she won't get much through your milk. You need to giver her a supplement as recommended by all doctor's. Vitamin is very important and essential.

If you can get the baby out for about 20 minutes a week in the sun, this is also sufficient.

  4. It only takes 15 mins of sunlight a day to get more then enough vit D just take the baby outside for that a day or seat by a window and you well be fine.
