I just graduated high school, and my admission to a university has been revoked recently, and I will no longer be able to attend there. Since the notice came very late, I found myself having to take a year off right after high school. After one year of rest, I'm planning to start off at a community college at another state (because I will be moving). They will ask for my transcript when I apply, but how would I get it to them considering that I have a one year gap of education, and I no longer have any contact with my high school? Please help me. Ten points for best answer!!

  1. 'I don't have contact with my high school' isn't an acceptable response.  Either get copies of your transcript from them now, or send them a letter later requesting copies.  You don't have to be there to do it, but you DO need to send them to colleges, no matter how long you took off.

  2. Many people take time off between graduating from high school and starting a degree program at a college.  You will need transcripts, but they must be sent directly from the high school to the college per your request, usually in writing.  Once you touch the transcripts yourself, they are not valid since you can tamper with the grades.  After you establish yourself as a community college student, you will probably not need to submit them again, since the focus will be on your college-level grades.

  3. I don't think having a transcript is a necessity for the C.C. level but I may be wrong. I didn't need my HS transcript when I applied to a C.C. When you speak to a councilor to schedule your classes though, just tell him/her your situation and tell them how you honestly did in school.  I spoke to a councilor twice and forgot my transcripts once, it wasn't a big deal, it just helps them pick your classes better and to see how well you did in math, sciences, etc.

Also, why not just drive to your H.S. right now and get the transcripts?  They keep all years on hand. I am positive they'll have yours.  This would save you lots and lots of trouble

  4. you must have "contact" with your school???? call, letter via snail male or email. you can get your transcripts anytime after you graduate.
