If I applied to the American Legion?

How long will it take for my application to get accepted?

You should receive your membership card within 30 days.

When I joined, I met with a member of my local post. I also had to show him a copy of my DD-214 to prove I had served.  Since you did it online, did they ask for proof of service?

When you receive your membership card, check your local telephone book to find a local post where you can attend monthly meetings at.

What do you mean you applied to the American Legion?  The American legion normally sends letters to Veterans after they've been sent back to civilian life.  The ask you to join them as they asked me.  You pay your dues and you get entered into a register held in Washington D.C.  I am not sure you know what you're talking about, this isn't the French Foreign Legion you know.
