If I bet 10 on a horse to place that had 6 to 1 odds. What would be my winnings?

  1. Generally, you can assume the place horse will pay about half the expected win price. In this case, if Pyro goes off at six to one he should pay about six bucks to place. That means you could collect $30. However, if somebody other then one of the top two favorites finishes first or second (and he wins) you could collect a little more.


  2. The odds that are posted are for the win pool.  Unless you simply speculate, there's no way to know what you would win if your horse placed unless you knew the odds for the place position.

  3. you win 60 + your 10 back
