  1. I believe first of all you have to call it a "Dune" Buggy.

  2. Call your local Motor Vehicle Division and they can point you in the right direction.  They can tell you all you need to make it street legal too.  Good luck.

  3. It depends on the state you live in. But generally you should start at your states license branch. They will give you the list of what's needed.

Generally you will need to fill out a rebuilders title (or something similar) application it will list the ID numbers on vehicle parts you used.

Then you will have to take the car to a state police garage for them to inspect for safety and road worthiness.

They will give you a form (if it passes) to attach to the title application. Go back to the license branch with the form.

The license branch will then issue you a VIN number that you will have to have engraved or stamped into the frame in a visible location.

Then you will have to take the car back to the state police garage to have the VIN number inspected and sign off on the form they gave you before.

Now take the forms and title application back to the license branch and pay for the title.

This should get you started. But check with your license branch to get the list of what they require.

  4. If not street legal & no to be driven on the street than no title is needed> Call DMV and ask them what to do & how>
