  1. Any garden grown without use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or sewage will be healthier.  To become certified as "organic," the soil must meet strict requirements.  There is a specific amount of time that must pass in which the soil must not be treated with anything synthetic.  I believe it is 7 years, but I am not certain of the time frame.
