If I burn a region one dvd on my computer (Dell, Windows Vista) could I then play it on a dvd player which...

...only plays region two dvd's ? When I bought the dvd I was assured by my OH that our dvd player was multi regional (or I wouldn't have been daft enough to buy it). It is possible that my recordable discs only play on region 2 anyway. (I'm in the Uk).

  1. Home-burned DVDs are all region free. If your DVD player (under your TV) won't play your home-burned DVDs then try DVD+R instead of DVD-R (or vice versa). Avoid DVD-/+RW. Only computer DVD drives can handle them (unless your DVD player specifically says it can play DVD-RW or DVD+RW).


  2. Not all home made DVDs are region free - you need software to remove the region code.. then its region free...
