If I buy DVDs in the States will I be able to watch them in Europe??

Check what region the DVD plays in. Also, some DVD players play all regions. Region 1 is USA and Canada and Europe is Region 2 I believe. And region 0 DVDs play in all DVD players.

you can watch american dvds in europe with a multi-regional dvd player... or if you have a dvd player already shops that sell electrical goods will sometimes mess around with your dvd player so it can play any region not sure how much they charge to do that though :/

A multiregion DVD player costs more, but will certainly work.

Another option is to by AnyDVD software for your PC. You can copy the disk onto your hard drive and it will set the region code to "zero" so it will play anywhere. You can then copy the file onto a blank DVD.

Last time I checked, the AnyDVD software was $39.
