I want to get at least an 8 piece drum set, double bass, but only have enough right now for the 5 piece drum set that's on sale. What I want to know is, if I buy the 5 piece, can I go and add more to this one set or would I have to buy the 8 piece instead?

  1. Yes, most series you can add some more drums to it. However some drum series don't and you can only get what you get with the set unless you mix and match.

If you want to save room you could look into getting a double bass pedal and save some money.

they have alot of drum add one pieces and stuff for most brands.

  2. Hi Sammi

Start with what you have and if you do want to add, add good quality toms with the new rack mount tom holders.

At least, if you get rid of the old 5 piece, you will have good quality add-ons already and continue from there.

  3. There is a drum set in the band room at my school. it started as a 4- piece kit. Now it has 2 different highhats. 4 oher cymbols, 2 snare drums, 4 toms, 2 bass drums each with a double peddle.

  4. Yes. But a 5 piece will keep you busy for a long while. When you master that and want to add you may even want to buy a different and better kit. Master the 5 piece, then move up. Besides you can get a peddle to use the same bass as a double. Cheaper and easier way to go.
