If I buy a CD in London, will it work in an American stereo?

I'm just not sure if they are different, like the stereo's plug. When I go to London next month there are a lot of English bands that I like and would like to buy their CD's while I'm there, but I just want to make sure they will work here.

Well I had an american walkman player a few years ago and both american and british cds worked on it.

CD's will work anywhere, it's DVD's that don't. I have a Britain CD and it played fine in my car and in my computer.

yea they will i bought a bunch of CD's there and they all work, even in my laptop

they should last time i checked they are unlike dvds that  are  region limited
