If I buy a Nintendo DS game from the US will it work on my UK-bought DS?

I really want Trauma Center: Under The Knife 2 for my DS. However, it has only come out in North America and Japan. If I bought a copy from America, would it work on my UK-bought DS?

I can't imagine why it wouldn't, the game should be compatible. JP games on a NA DS work fine, so NA games for UK DS should work out, too. Trauma Center is worth the slight risk. Go for it.
