I want to goto Italy, and buy a Fiat Punto.

However, I heard that If I buy a car in Italy, some dealerships won't let me keep the license plates so I can drive it home.

If this is true, then...

My question is how do I know which dealerships let me keep the license plate so I can drive it back to my country to register it there?

  1. There should be no problem with the dealer as such.-- they will do anything to sell you a car.

However , when you return back to your home EU state you will have to take the car for testing and re-registration within 6 months.
